“Concert in the Wild” presents a very special one on Saturday, June 12th, 2021
Chamber music concert.


The fascinating program spans an arc from the delicate music of the baroque to classical music
on neo-romanticism and contemporary classical music with works by Abel, Bach, Chausson, Danielpour, Delibes,
Previn and Crumb. A thematic focus can be found in the title of George Crumbs
Piano masterpiece "Macrocosm". In every work in the program you will find topics from which one
could say that they articulate the connectedness, the music about time, culture, language and space
away.
Our wonderful musicians come from some of the most renowned ensembles in Berlin and all over
Germany. The cellist Katharina Feltz and the double bass player Jesper Ulfenstedt are both active
Soloists, chamber musicians and members of the orchestra of the Komische Oper Berlin. The pianist Ya-ou Xie
works as a concert pianist, conductor and one of the founding members of "Berlin PianoPercussion"

http://berlinpianopercussion.com. Spinto soprano Leah Gordon has won numerous awards for her song-
and opera interpretations in many international opera houses and concert halls. She is happy

set out to sing Elisabeth in "Tannhäuser", which will be one of her first appearances after the pandemic
becomes. Mezzo / Contralto Jennifer Arnold is also an internationally celebrated stage veteran of opera,
Lied and chamber repertoires. She will perform the song cycle "Sweet Talk" by Richard Danielpour,
which she premiered with Yo-Yo Ma and later sang for President Clinton when she was a student
Conservatory of Music in New York City, NY.
The location of the concert is the beautiful garden of a large villa in Berlin Westend. The owner has it
Kindly allowed to use this room for open air concerts. For that very special one
Chamber music concert, a Kayserburg concert grand by Pearl River is generously available
posed. We are extremely grateful for this support and sponsorship.

We ask for a donation to support the musicians. Pre-registration is recommended

Jennifer Arnold

Mezzo-soprano

A graduate student at the Manhattan School of Music in New York City with a Masters degree in Music, she received the Birgit Nilsson Award Scholarship, a full scholarship, for the duration of her Masters degree and had the privilege of working with Yo-Yo Ma at the Kennedy Center Library to appear for former President Bill Clinton.
In 2003 she was nominated alongside Anna Netrebko by the international opera magazine Opernwelt as singer of the year for her portrayal of Carmen under the direction of Johannes Felsenstein.

Sonja Isabel Reuter

Lyric soprano

Sonja Isabel Reuter from Frankfurt am Main. Singing training at Dr. Hoch's Conservatory, the Hanns Eisler University of Music in Berlin.

Scholarship from the Bernt-Rohrer
Foundation for “Outstanding Artistic Skills” award for young talent from the Richard Wagner Association in Leipzig and a 2020 finalist at
National singing competition.

Sabine Seifert

Organistin/ Pianistin

Frau Seifert ist seit ihrer Jugend begeisterte Musikerin. Ihr Studium begann sie in Lübeck mit Kirchenmusik, es folgten das Klavierdiplom und ein Gastsemester für Chorleitung in Berlin. Weiterer Unterricht für Klavier bei Prof. J. Uhde und Kurse für Chorleitung bei Prof. Rilling, Hempfling, Prof. Trantow rundeten ihr Studium ab.
In Schulensee liegt ein besonderer Schwerpunkt auf der Chorarbeit.
In ihrer Arbeit mit Erwachsenen setzt die Dirigentin und Künstlerin auf Vielseitigkeit, womit sie die musikalischen Fähigkeiten der Chormitglieder immer wieder herausfordert. Neben Werken der Alten Musik gehören so auch die romantische und die zeitgenössische Chormusik zum vielseitigen Repertoire des Thomas-Chores.
Bei den Kindern sind es die großen Singspiele, die begeistern und herausfordern, die Erlebnisse beim darstellenden Spiel animieren und die solistischen Aufgaben lassen jeden einzelnen wachsen und reifen.
